Music is the greatest form of communication. It is spoken through the sounds of countless cultures, yet it can be understood by all who come upon it, regardless of background. From the powerful symphonies of the west, to the peaceful tunes of the east, the International AiMusic Festival-proclaimed by UNESCO as a World Intangible Cultural Heritage event-celebrates them all.

On April 28, the DVBS Chinese Orchestra departed for San Jose City College, where the event was to take place. At 2:00PM, after a morning of set-up and rehearsal, the official performance begun. The event included the performances of the AiMusic School’s Western and Chinese Divisions, as well as the Sacramento Ladies Orchestra. The event was concluded by the performances of the DVBS students, who played five traditional pieces.
